Sermon Outline:           
Two Kinds of Wisdom James 3.13-18

Wisdom as far as James is concerned is about how we live our lives. There are two kinds, "Earthly Wisdom" & "Heavenly Wisdom".

Earthly Wisdom v15

Promotes: self, and is expressed in bitter envy & selfish ambition v14.
Its nature: earthly, unspiritual and devilish v15
Results: in disorder & evil practice v16 

Heavenly Wisdom v17

Promotes: Jesus, and is expressed in 8 characteristics
It is pure, friendly, gentle, sensible, kind, helpful, genuine, & sincere
Its nature: It is good v13, v18.
Results: in good ways of living with a good harvest v13, v18.

James writing to Christians is saying that wisdom is for life, and the wisdom we tap into determines not only how we will live but also how effective our lives will be.
